Privacy Policy

How Smart Care Technology handles personal information when authorised carers use the SCT Carer mobile application.

Effective 31 July 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to SCT Carer, a workforce application operated by Smart Care Technology Pty Ltd (ABN 75 694 394 511), referred to as “Smart Care Technology”, “we”, “us” or “our”. SCT Carer helps authorised adult carers manage assigned care services, shifts, attendance, care notes, messages and uploads.

Accounts are issued and managed by authorised service administrators. SCT Carer is not intended for members of the general public and does not offer in-app account registration.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your role and the features you use, we collect:

  • Account and profile information: name, user ID, phone number, email address, profile photo, role and employment-related details.
  • Care and service information: assigned care recipient details, care plans and health-related information needed to deliver authorised services.
  • Work records: shifts, attendance, check-in and check-out records, care notes, survey responses, service outcomes and audit history.
  • Communications: in-app messages and content you submit to an authorised care team or service administrator.
  • Photos, files and documents: profile photos, care or progress photos, invoices, qualifications and other files you choose to upload.
  • Precise location: current coordinates and related address information only when you start an attendance check-in or check-out action. SCT Carer does not request or collect background location.
  • Technical and security information: authentication tokens, IP address, device and app information, request logs and diagnostic information needed to operate and secure the service.

Your device permissions

SCT Carer asks for location, camera or photo access only when you use a feature that needs it. You can refuse or disable these permissions in device settings, but the related attendance or upload feature may not work.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • authenticate users and enforce role-based access;
  • provide assigned care information and support authorised care delivery;
  • manage shifts, attendance, check-in and check-out records;
  • create and maintain care notes, service records, uploads and audit history;
  • support in-app operational messages;
  • troubleshoot, maintain, protect and improve the service;
  • respond to requests, investigate misuse and protect safety; and
  • meet applicable legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.

We do not sell personal information, show advertising in SCT Carer, or use personal information for third-party advertising.

4. When information is disclosed

Personal information is available only to authorised people who need it for care or service administration. We may disclose information to:

  • the relevant care recipient or authorised representative;
  • authorised care teams, service providers and administrators;
  • contracted technology providers that host, store, secure or support the service, including mapping services used during attendance actions; and
  • regulators, courts or other parties where required by law, necessary to protect safety or legal rights, or connected with an authorised business transfer.

Contracted providers may process information in Australia or other countries. Where information is processed outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to require appropriate privacy and security protections.

5. Security, storage and retention

We use administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authentication, role-based access controls, encrypted network transmission, monitoring and restricted staff access. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and users must keep their devices and login details secure.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service and maintain care, employment, financial, safety and audit records, or as required by law and contractual obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

6. Access, correction, account closure and deletion

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, make a privacy complaint, or ask us to close your SCT Carer account and delete associated personal information. Email smartcaretechnologyau@gmail.com or contact your service administrator.

Some care, safety, employment, financial or audit records cannot be deleted immediately where retention is required by law, dispute resolution or care service obligations. We will explain any applicable limitation when responding to a request.

7. Children’s privacy

SCT Carer is a workforce application intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through SCT Carer, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, services or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision. Material updates will be made available in SCT Carer or through appropriate service communications.

9. Health information disclaimer

SCT Carer records and displays care information for authorised service operations. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations or emergency services.
